Nationwide Building Society offers new fixed rate mortgages.

The Nationwide building society has released a new line of fixed rate mortgages which includes a two year fixed from 4.95 per cent, a three year fixed from 5.09 per cent, a five year deal from 5.09 per cent as well as a ten year fixed product offering from 5.09 per cent.

The new products' rates are based on a loan to cover 90 per cent of the total purchase price, with rates slightly higher if customers wish to take out a mortgage to cover 95 per cent of the total house value.

All of the new facilities allow borrowers to overpay (up to a maximum of £500 per month), underpay, or take a payment holiday and interest will be calculated on a daily basis.

There are no valuation fees or legal fees for remortgagors. However, a non-refundable £389 reservation fee is in operation, as is a non-refundable remortgage admin fee of £95.

The products are subject to early redemption charges starting at two per cent for the two-year deal and rising to five per cent for the five year loan.
