Alliance & Leicester banking opens new small business centre

Alliance & Leicester banking opened a new small business centre in Leicester yesterday.

The Midlands Business Centre offers a full banking service and provides a better service for customers using a new "full relationship service to meet every financial need".

Another five centres are due to be opened by Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank this year, hoping to achieve turnover of £1-10 million.

Steve Jennings, director of Business Banking at Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank, commented: "Our strategy of offering a highly competitive range of products, serviced via the telephone and internet has proved to be a huge success, with more and more businesses choosing Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank.

"However, our central region pilot has shown that an increasing number of our existing and new customers have more complex banking requirements and this is why we have taken the decision to launch our new Business Centres. The Midlands Business Centre team have a wealth of specialist, commercial finance expertise to help businesses in the region find the most appropriate solution for their financial requirements."

The new centre will be headed by manager who has more than 25 years banking experience in the sector.
