Barclays extends loan to value on Great Escape mortgage deals

Existing homeowners looking to remortgage their properties could benefit from changes to Barclays' Great Escape product range.

Through its building society arm Woolwich, the bank has announced plans to extend its remortgage deals to 85 per cent loan to value.

In a bid to help borrowers who are resting on the standard variable rate, Barclays has also announced the launch of new three and five-year switch and save deals - which offer free legal work for customers.

All Great Escape products come with no application fee and £300 cashback to cover the cost of switching mortgage lenders.

Andy Gray, head of mortgages for Barclays, said: "It's widely predicted that the base rate will increase this year so it's important that borrowers take action this summer to secure low mortgage rates while they are still available."

These new offers come after Barclays Wealth announced the launch of its new Trend Fund, which aim to deliver a return to investors in a range of economic climates.
