Leeds Building Society launches shared ownership mortgage products

First-time buyers looking for a new home in the difficult economic climate could benefit from new additions to the shared ownership range at Leeds Building Society.

The lender has announced plans to reduce interest rates by 0.3 per cent across the products, as well as cut the booking fee by £200.

In addition, prospective homeowners looking for their ideal property have been offered a free standard valuation worth up to £335 as part of the offer.

Customers are also able to apply for a two-year fixed-rate mortgage at 6.19 per cent and 75 per cent loan to value (LTV), with a maximum borrower share of 95 per cent.

There are also a series of three-year fixed-rate deals at 6.29 per cent, available at up to 75 per cent LTV for buyers.

Kim Rebecchi, sales and marketing director at the building society, said: "These are competitive rates for shared ownership mortgages and are ideal for customers who have saved for a deposit but cannot buy a property in their own right."

Leeds Building Society has also announced the launch of a new two-year discount home loan, which could benefit people with only 15 per cent of their mortgagedeposit.
