Churchouse Financial Planning highlights pensions calculator tax relief

Anyone able to make pension contributions should ensure they check to see if they are entitled to any tax relief, according to a representative from Churchouse Financial Planning.

Keith Churchouse, managing director of the firm, pointed out that such payments may be worth making if it bumps people up to a higher rate of tax relief.

He said: "I always think it is worthwhile for the UK public to be looking at pensions to save tax where possible. Pensions have not been a popular vehicle for savings."

In his opinion, the best way to work out whether a pension contribution is the most effective use of your cash is to seek professional advice.

Mr Churchouse stressed that many individuals have missed out on savings because of the public view of pensions.

His comments follow a report by unbiased.co.uk showing that people could be missing out on £795 million this year by not topping up their occupation pension schemes.
