Nationwide reduces rates on fixed-rate mortgages

The building society has today (June 30th) announced plans to cut rates across its fixed-rate mortgage deals in a bid to ease the strain placed on a number of families.
As part of the offer, prospective buyers will be given the chance to take advantage of a 0.65 per cent reduction across a wide range of deals.
Starting tomorrow (July 1st) customers will be able to apply for a Best Buy five-year fixed product at 70 per cent loan to value with a rate of just 3.89 per cent.
Martyn Dyson, the company's head of mortgages, said: "Our best buy five-year fixed rate offers outstanding value and reassurance for those customers concerned about future interest rate movements."
Earlier this week, Nationwide revealed that house prices have remained stable throughout June. However, supply and demand for homes is subdued as a result of the economy.
