Leeds & Holbeck 2-year fixed-rate bond announced

A new Leeds & Holbeck two-year fixed-rate bond has been launched, which the company promises offers excellent flexibility.

The bond, operated by the Gibraltar branch, requires a minimum investment of £5,000 and comes with a monthly option.

Access is available on up to 50 per cent of the amount invested without notice or penalty, which the company claims is "unusual" for a two-year fixed-rate bond.

Customers who are unable to invest an initial lump sum are offered a Regular Saver account by Leeds & Holbeck, meaning that a saving of as little as £20 a month gives a return of 5.5 per cent (2.5 per cent variable with a fixed bonus of three per cent).

The Leeds & Holbeck two-year fixed-rate also allows one penalty-free withdrawal during the bonus period.

Gibraltar operations manager, Sally Butcher, said: "With market rates predicting a fall in base rate, this bond extension offers excellent guaranteed value combined with access to half the funds invested, without notice or penalty.

"The Regular Saver also provides an excellent return for customers who cannot invest a lump sum."
