Annual travel insurance 'a better bet for city break fans'

Annual travel insurance is the best option for travellers who like to take shorter, more frequent holidays, according to one expert.

InsureandGo founder Perry Wilson said that for those people who take two or three breaks - perhaps on weekend trips to European cities such as Prague, Barcelona and Amsterdam - one insurance policy that covers all would be recommended.

"Wherever you go, you are covered by it. For £85 for a whole family for a whole year, for whatever you want to do, worldwide," he explained.

"It's a silly amount for you and your family, realistically."

Finding a cheaper travel insurance may be desirable to many British holidaymakers, with a report by Aldi suggesting that five per cent head overseas without any cover at all.

In terms of holiday costs overall, 60 per cent told the firm that value for money is the most important consideration behind their choices.
