Following the completion of a survey examining the behaviour changes some drivers undergo once they rev up their engines, Aviva points out that some motorists can be classed as 'realists', taking the odd risk now and then, but overall unlikely to indulge in bad behaviour on the roads.
'Steady Eddies' are the most scrupulous, are unlikely to do anything rash while driving and stick closely to the speed limit. On the other end of the spectrum is the 'racing driver', the type of motorist who is happy to break speed limits and overtake others regularly.
'Snails' take few risks and often annoy fellow road users by driving well below speed limits, while 'opportunists' believe that the odd risk is justified by the bad behaviour of other drivers.
