Aviva motor trade insurance 'available to wide range of businesses'

Smaller businesses can benefit from changes to Aviva motor trade insurance, the company has claimed.

Product development manager Alison Ellis said that firms with under five members of staff form a "significant market", as they comprise more than 70 per cent of motor traders, according to National Statistics data.

Compulsory business premises insurance has been axed - allowing for home-based companies - while Aviva motor trade insurance is now also available just for named drivers.

Ms Ellis said that the changes had been made after insurance holders and brokers provided feedback.

She added that Aviva motor trade insurance is now accessible "to a wider range and size of businesses".

Aviva recently broadened its insurance products to provide better cover for technology.

The new policies include terms such as £25,000 automatic cover for data loss from virus attacks and £100,000 in the event of a supply chain being broken.

Aviva said that it wanted to strengthen its position in the technology sector.
