Bibby calls for more debt relief support

It has been reported that during the second quarter of 2010 the total number of companies that went out of business fell by 19.1 per cent year-on-year, but the number was up by 0.5 per cent on the previous quarter.

Edward Rimmer, UK chief executive of the financial advice firm, said that while many companies should take a look at their figures to avoid insolvency, the finance community needs to do more to educate business owners on how to avoid the problem.

"By spreading the word about invoice finance, we hope that these figures will look a lot different in 12 months time," Mr Rimmer added.

The organisation recently commented on the emergency budget announced by the coalition governement, criticising the plans to increase VAT to 20 per cent as this will force businesses to spend more on supplies.
