HSBC to offer deals for 2012

Lender HSBC has announced it is to offer a number of special deals for its customers over the coming 12 months.

The offers include up to 50 per cent off overdraft arrangement fees for new business customers, as well as zero per cent balance transfer on credit card deals for up to 23 months.

"With what looks likely to be a difficult year financially, we want to make sure we help our customers get their year off to the best start possible," commented Brendan Cook, HSBC's general manager of retail banking and wealth management.

He added that the bank is offering some great switching deals and competitive rates on current accounts and savings.

The lender also announced this week it is set to offer a range of no-fee tracker mortgages to clients in January, with deals starting at 1.89 per cent above base rate and from 60 to 90 per cent loan-to-value.
