AA unveils 'comic car insurance claims of 2008'

One customer called the AA's claims line to relate how his car had been damaged by a flying sheep, which jumped from a bridge over a motorway in fright after it escaped from a truck lying on its side.
A second client told how he had watched a large Christmas tree lift off the roof of a car coming towards him, sail through the air and land with a crunch on his bonnet.
Simon Douglas, director of AA Insurance, said: "It doesn't matter how bizarre the incident, you may be sure we've heard it all before."
The AA added that such incidents underline the importance of having comprehensive car insurance cover as you never know what might happen.
Recently, the AA issued a warning to drivers to be especially careful over the festive period as winter weather leads to an increase in the number of insurance claims.
