Alliance & Leicester two-year fixed rate FeeSaver mortgage launched

The Alliance & Leicester two-year fixed rate FeeSaver mortgage has been launched, with a rate of 4.69 per cent until December 31st 2007.

After this date, the rate will be the Bank of England (BoE) base rate, plus 0.95 per cent for the rest of the mortgage term.

This particular product has been given then name FeeSaver, as there is no product fee, but differs from the standard two-year fixed rate mortgage slightly in rates.

Stephen Leonard, Director of Mortgages at Alliance & Leicester, spoke of the FeeSaver product: "These deals particularly appeal to first time buyers and remortgagers who want to avoid any up-front costs."

The Alliance & Leicester two-year fixed rate FeeSaver mortgage also has a ten per cent overpayment facility and remortgaging customers can receive £250 cashback or free mortgage transfer service.

However, there is an early repayment charge of three per cent if the outstanding balance on the mortgage is redeemed before the end of December 2007.
