Bradford & Bingley insurance warning for Christmas

Bradford & Bingley says homeowners should review their insurance policies to make sure they are covered for any expensive Christmas gifts they have bought.
It warns that over the festive period homeowners are often targeted by burglars hoping to get their hands on brand new games consoles, mobile phones and other presents.
Checking insurance policies carefully now and adding on expensive gifts such as these could prevent misery later, the insurer maintains.
Dave Foyle, head of general insurance at Bradford & Bingley, said: "With so much money and effort invested in the Christmas period, people should make sure that they don't overlook the necessity of protecting their home and its contents from unwanted visitors."
Research from Halifax Home Insurance shows that a fifth of Brits plan to leave their homes empty while they travel to visit friends and family this Christmas, making adequate home insurance even more important.
