According to the company, flexible deals allow customers to borrow an initial sum and then have the option to use further funds from the deal for the first ten years of its term.
The managing director of Hodge, Jon King, claims that the simplicity of flexible deals is what makes them popular, website Mortgage Introducer reports.
He cites examples from Hodge's offer, such as early repayment charges being set as a percentage of the amount repaid, rather than involving "complex penalties" that he claims can prove confusing on other mortgages.
Mr King also credited the success of the Hodge Equity Release Flexible Mortgage to the fact that it is marketed through independent financial advisers (IFAs).
"Consumers must be given a clear choice in what remains to them a largely unfamiliar products area and IFAs are best placed to provide the independent advice they need," he said.
