Leeds Two-Year Fixed-Rate Postal Bond launched

A new Leeds Two-Year Fixed-Rate Postal Bond has been announced today, which guarantees to pay 5.1 per cent annual interest until May 31st 2007.

Access to 25 per cent of the initial investment will be permitted without notice or penalty, the building society states.

The account requires a minimum investment of £5,000 and allows a maximum level of £250,000 for single holders and £500,000 for joint customers.

Additional investments can be made in the Leeds Two-Year Fixed-Rate Postal Bond, which will be available from May 5th onwards, while its issue remains open to the public.

"We are trying to ensure that customers receive a very competitive return and the peace of mind provided by allowing access to some of the funds, without notice or penalty," said Stuart Fearn, product development manager at Leeds.

"Therefore, I would urge investors to act quickly to secure this product, which will be an excellent addition to any investment portfolio."

The Leeds Two-Year Fixed-Rate Postal Bond will pay interest annually, commencing on May 31st 2007.
