Friends Provident Pensions: Dads could be saving a fortune

Fathers across the country could be saving themselves thousands of pounds a year, according to research by Friends Provident Pensions.

With Father's Day coming up this Sunday, Friends Provident Pensions have revealed that if dads could manage some of the jobs that otherwise cost a lot, then they could save their family as much as £13,000.

The research found that if dads could do the job of a handyman he could save around £1,500 and if he could act as a sports coach for his kids he could save around £650 a year.

Ian Jefferies, head of protection marketing at Friends Provident Pensions, said: "While paying for these services wouldn't dent the bank balance of the average football star, the same is not necessarily true for all families, which is why it's so important to have sufficient cover in place to protect your family."

Friends Provident Pensions was founded in 1832 and the Friends Provident Group is part of the FTSE 100.
