Summer switching recommended by Lloyds TSB

Taking time out to reassess one's financial situation has been recommended by Lloyds TSB.

In a recent survey, the bank found that 36 per cent of respondents like to sort out their finances ahead of the onset of autumn.

Of those looking to get on top of their money affairs, 28 per cent are looking to switch accounts and 35 per cent want a bank to offer them a higher interest rate.

Commenting on the findings, life coach Gladeana McMahon said that mid-year changes can sometimes be "easier" than waiting until after Christmas.

"Having time off work in the summer, or just having a lighter workload, can help people get their lives in perspective and think about the changes they want to make before Christmas comes around," she said.

Last month, Lloyds TSB recommended its Travel Money Card to parents whose children might be heading off on holiday this summer.
