Leeds branch-based passbook account benefits from rate decision

Leeds Building Society today welcomed the news that the Bank of England (BoE) has kept the base rate at 4.5 per cent.

One of its products, the Leeds branch-based passbook account aimed specifically at pensioners, will continue to pay a rate of 4.5 per cent.

Anyone over the age of 50 can apply and customers must make one regular pension-related credit to the account, which can be monthly or weekly.

For customers to receive the rate of 4.5 per cent, a minimum of £500 must be kept in the account at any one time.

Furthermore, Karen Wint said those interested in applying "can simply call in and receive the right advice to suit their needs".
