In order to keep car insurance premiums as low as possible for consumers, the group is also urging them to refrain from driving with a hand-held mobile phone.
From February 27th, new laws will require motorists who are caught using a mobile phone while driving to pay a £60 fine and receive three points on their licence.
Refraining from using a mobile phone while driving may be particularly applicable to young drivers between the age of 17 and 24, with almost a third believed to use hand-held devices within a typical month.
Steve Johnson, head of car insurance at Sainsbury's Bank, described how driving without a hands-free kit was "extremely dangerous" and a move likely to result in higher car insurance premiums.
"Hopefully, the tougher penalties will deter more people from doing this," he added.
