According to the group, disputes between neighbours are becoming increasingly antagonistic, with the group's 500 calls received in 2006 being ten per cent more than the previous year.
However, the group explains how consumers can choose legal expenses cover, which will allow homeowners to receive advice on their legal position regarding a dispute.
Cornhill Direct spokesman, Simon Coughlin, said: "Our survey shows that neighbourly disputes are a fact of life for many people across the UK.
"Arguments can be sparked by the most trivial of things and that's where we can provide help with advice on how best to settle the dispute," he added.
The group found that some of the most common disputes involved noisy outdoor accessories.
Almost a fifth of homeowner out of the 3,500 homeowners surveyed also described how they were irked by their neighbours' gardens.
