Brits advised on investment options

Individuals hoping to save their money for the future and to achieve the best returns possible in the present financial climate have been offered advice by an expert in the area.

Andrew Hagger, a spokesman for moneynet.co.uk, said Isas should be the first choice for those looking to save in an efficient manner, as these products are exempt from tax and deliver good returns.

He added: "Depending on their circumstances and if they are not worried about access to some of their money, then if you pop it into a fixed-rate bond for a year you get a better rate."

Mr Hagger also noted shopping around for the best deal can be good advice for all, as being savvy with money is ultimately about finding the best returns.

Meanwhile, parenting expert and author Andrew Watson recently argued young people should be given more education in terms of handling their finances, as this will stand them in good stead for making important financial decisions when they become adults.
