Abbey Spanish mortgages launched

Abbey has launched a range of Euro mortgages aimed at British residents wishing to buy a property in Spain.

The Abbey Spanish mortgages come in three guises. The first is a tracker rate mortgage, which has a rate of 0.95 per cent plus 12-month Euribor.

This product allows borrowers up to 80 per cent loan to value (LTV) and has a fee of 1.25 per cent of the value of the loan.

Furthermore, three and five-year tracker mortgages are also available. All products have the same fee and LTV.

Jeff Scott, head of Abbey specialist lending, said that mortgages would appeal to those looking to purchase a property in Spain, or those first-time buyers that have been priced out of the UK property market.

The Abbey Spanish mortgages are offered to customers in conjunction with Banco Santander.
