Halifax announces longest ever balance transfer credit card deal

Halifax has today (August 19th) announced the launch of what it claims is the market-leading 22-month zero per cent balance transfer credit card deal.

In the longest deal offered by the company, the card comes with a 3.5 per cent fee and a transfer limit of £3,000, in addition to the existing 17-month zero per cent balance transfer fee card with a three per cent fee and no maximum transfer limit.

Both offer an APR of 17.9 per cent and zero per cent on purchases meaning "consumers now have even more options available to them, be it balance transfers, low rates or fee free cards," claimed Halifax Credit Cards' acquisition director Jasjyot Singh.

"We are delighted to be able to offer this," he added.

Halifax's competitor Santander yesterday (August 18th) launched its own new credit product. The 123 Cashback Credit Card is being promoted as the first credit facility that will offer money back to its users on a monthly basis.
