Newcastle Children's Regular Saver account launched

The Newcastle Children's Regular Saver account has been launched, and it comes with a competitive rate of 4.75 per cent.

The account, which has been added to Newcastle Building Society's established portfolio of savings products for children, also comes with a two per cent bonus - if at least 11 monthly payments are made annually.

Steve Urwin, head of marketing and new media at Newcastle Building Society, said: "Nowadays it is important to give children a head start when it comes to financial matters and our new account is aimed at offering an easy and hassle-free way of building up a fund for a child’s future."

As little as £1 can be used to open the account, and customers are allowed up to six withdrawals a year without a penalty charge.

Those wishing to open a Newcastle Children's Regular Saver account should visit any branch of Newcastle Building Society and speak to a member of staff.
