AIB SME investment accounts launched

Anglo Irish Bank (AIB) has announced it is launching its first range of investment accounts aimed at small to medium sized businesses (SMEs).

The AIB SME investment accounts range consists of three products, the Quick Access Business Deposit, the 7-Day Notice Business Deposit and the 30-Day Notice Business Deposit.

The accounts pay interest rates of 4.3 per cent, 4.35 per cent and 4.45 per cent respectively.

All accounts require a minimum balance of £5,000, with the maximum investment limit standing at £1 million.

Lisa Taylor from Business Moneyfacts said: "The launch of these new accounts, from a new deposit market entrant, reinforces the message that companies can achieve good rates of interest on their hard-earned savings."

She concluded by saying that SMEs should spend some time to "browse the financial shopping shelves" in order to find a good deal.
