Yorkshire two-year fixed rate savings bonds launched

Yorkshire Building Society has announced it is launching a couple of two-year fixed rate savings bonds.

The Yorkshire two-year fixed rate savings bonds claim to be more flexible than traditional savings bonds, according to the building society.

Customers can choose from a bond offering a rate of 4.75 per cent, which pays interest annually from the date of opening until March 31st 2008.

Furthermore, a Yorkshire two-year fixed rate savings bond paying a rate of 4.65 per cent is also available and allows customers to make one withdrawal a year. This can amount up to 25 per cent of the original balance.

Both Yorkshire two-year fixed rate savings bonds have a facility that allows the account to be closed early, subject to 180 days loss of interest.

Chris Edwards, savings product manager at the building society, said:
"We hope that the choice of bonds and the options available with each
will ensure that our members get the product that suits their
requirements coupled with a great rate of interest."
