Clerical Medical Self-Invested Fund opened

It has been announced today that a Clerical Medical Self-Invested Fund will be included in the company's new product range.

The fund will be accessible through an individual pension taken out with the firm and will offer a range of self-invested assets.

Administration of the pension plan will be carried out by Clerical Medical, while its partner Suffolk Life will manage the side of the scheme relating to self-invested assets.

John Hiew, managing director of Clerical Medical, said: "I am delighted to announce that Clerical Medical is working with Suffolk Life to provide a first rate self-investment facility for our clients."

The managing director of Suffolk Life, Henry Catchpole, also commented that Suffolk Life's involvement in the Clerical Medical Self-Invested Fund was recognition of the fact that quality was an important factor in the current self-invested pension market.

Clerical Medical specialises in providing investments, pensions and life assurance for both corporate and individual markets.

It is part of Halifax Bank of Scotland, a group with total assets exceeding £509 billion.
