NewcastleNet Sharedealing service reopened

It has been announced today that the NewcastleNet Sharedealing service has been reintroduced to the public, with an introductory rate of £5 per trade.

This rate is available until April 30th 2006 and is valid for a maximum of 15 trades excluding those made over the telephone.

The facility will allow customers to buy and sell equities through the society's online savings portal – the NewcastleNet Savings instant access account.

Allowing customers to use their online account to sell and purchase shares enables them to make quick and easy transactions with their existing balance without affecting the state of their funds, the company claims.

Head of marketing at Newcastle, Steve Urwin, said: "Linking NewcastleNet Shares to our highly competitive savings account, NewcastleNetSavings, means that customers have easy access to their funds for trading without fear of losing interest on the remaining funds."

The NewcastleNet Sharedealing service also gives customers the opportunity to view a valuation of their portfolio of shares, as well as the status of any other accounts held with the company.
