Britannia Building Society Fixed Rate Bond range increased

Britannia has increased its range of fixed rate bond products with the introduction of new two and three year bonds, the building society has announced.

The new Britannia Building Society Fixed Rate Bond products will be made available on Monday August 7th will offer what the company is calling "great" interest rates.

Both new bonds require a minimum investment of £1,000 and Britannia has reported a payback of £42 million to its member last year through the fixed rate bond scheme.

The two year fixed rate bond will offer an interest rate of 4.95 per cent, while the rates on the three year bond will be fixed at five per cent.

Nick Pagan, savings manager at Britannia Building Society, said: "These bonds give people a varied option as to how long they wish to save for."

"With all three having fixed-rates and a monthly income option, it gives peace of mind that they can get a guaranteed return at the end of the term," he added.

Britannia is currently the second largest building society in the UK with over three million members.
