Banco Halifax Hispania urge Brits to Spain

Purchasing a second home in Spain need not be a pursuit favoured solely by the mega-rich, Banco Halifax Hispania has announced.

Due to the increase in budget airlines flying Brits to and from the land of sun, sea and sangria, it is not purely celebrities who are looking for a slice of the good life in Spain.

Aside from household names such as Antonio Banderas, Richard Branson and Andrew Lloyd Webber owning a house in Spain, many Brits have followed suit and Banco Halifax Hispania has recommended that people do their homework before committing.

Ian Smith, head of European operations at Halifax, commented: "The demand from British people for property in Spain has not only been fuelled by the high demand for low rate Euro mortgages, but also by the boom in low-cost, budget airlines."
