Natwest 'enhances' student banking

Natwest has launched the latest edition of its student bank account for 2007.

The new package provides a number of incentives for the young saver, including a five-year Young Persons Railcard worth £100.

The Natwest account also provides an interest-free overdraft facility which can be extended from £1,250 in the first year of the term to £2,000 in the fifth year.

Natwest also offers a great service for recent graduates, with the package offering an interest–free overdraft for three years after graduation.

Mark Worthington, head of student and graduate banking at the group, said it was important for students to pick an account which provided "flexibility and has a good interest-free overdraft facility".

He also said that Natwest's "genuine student expertise allows us to give each of our student customers the additional support they may need at this new and exciting time in their lives".

Accounts can be opened online at the group's website, over the telephone or in any Natwest branch.
