New fixed-rate Isa from Leeds Building Society

A new fixed-rate Isa is being offered by Leeds Building Society at a rate of 3.5 per cent - seven times the Bank of England's base interest rate.

The three-year product has been launched alongside a two-year fixed-rate deal at three per cent and sales and marketing director Kim Rebecchi said between them they "provide the best of both worlds" for medium-term investors.

"They will be suitable for those investors who are wary of tying up their money for long periods and also those who don't want to have very short-term accounts," she commented.

Ms Rebecchi also said the Isas differ from many of those available at other providers because savers are allowed to transfer over all of their previous years' Isa subscriptions and interest.

Leeds Building Society stated that the new products compliment the five-year fixed-rate Isa it launched earlier this week, along with a new range of fixed-rate bonds.
