Save Our Savers lauds importance of banking customers

Save Our Savers has lauded the impact that good customers have had on the banking industry and suggested that they deserve to be rewarded.

Reverend John Strain, a representative from the campaign group, pointed out that Lloyds has just released a financial statement that shows it is making a profit, while RBS has also showed "much-improved" results in the first quarter.

He claimed that it is partly down to reliable savers that have left their cash in the banks that has allowed them to recover following from the banking bail-out.

"Where would our economy - and not least our financial institutions - be without prudent savers? Government should be encouraging personal savings as the bedrock of a sustainable and resilient economy," stated Revd Strain.

The Save Our Savers spokesperson recently informed the press that all three main political parties responded to the group's concerns about savings policies, but that the Conservatives were the most reluctant to reply.
