London Stock Exchange Private Client Broker 'aims to be cost-effective'

The aim of the London Stock Exchange Private Client Broker tariff is to make it cost-effective for investors to trade directly in the organisation's order books.

This is the opinion of head of equity and derivatives markets at the group Nicolas Bertrand, who explained that his team are trying to make the process of trading simpler and more transparent.

He remarked: "We already have the most liquid market in Europe for trading equities and we are keen to grow the order flow from retail brokers."

The London Stock Exchange Private Client Broker promotion will be available from August 2nd 2010 and will allow investors to enjoy six months of free trading.

Mr Bertrand described the retail investment community in the UK as "thriving" and suggested this product will help build on its current success.

This month, the same firm unveiled its new post-trade market data service, which combines order book trade prints and "off-book" information.
