Pension calculator supplier Aviva lauds new AIFA chief

Members of the Association of Independent Financial Advisers (AIFA) will benefit hugely from the appointment of Stephen Gay as director general.

This is the opinion of Aviva distribution director Angela Seymour-Jackson, who highlighted the work Mr Gay has done with the firm in setting up the Aviva Financial Adviser Academy as evidence of his quality.

She claimed he has a "deep understanding" of the sorts of challenges people in the industry must overcome and will be a great asset to the organisation.

"This is a great opportunity for Stephen and underlines all the fantastic work and support Aviva has provided advisers under his leadership," said Ms Seymour-Jackson.

Chairman of the AIFA Lord Deben was also full of praise for Mr Gay, describing how his experience - which includes spells at Aviva UK Life, Prudential and Standard Life - will stand him in good stead in his new role and will help him protect the interests of the body's members.
