Bradford & Bingley Two-Year Fixed-Rate eBond among new offers

A Bradford & Bingley Two-Year Fixed-Rate eBond is one of two new offers introduced by the company today, with a rate of 5.15 per cent gross per year.

The other new product is a three-year option with a rate fixed at 5.25 per cent per year.

Interest can be paid on a monthly or annual basis, although if interest is received monthly, a rate of 5.03 per cent will be set on the two-year deal and 5.13 per cent will be paid on the three-year option.

Both of these packages require a minimum investment of £1,000 and allow a maximum savings level of £2 million.

Steve Potter, head of savings for Bradford & Bingley, said: "These eBonds may appeal to people with spare cash who are looking for an attractive fixed rate and are able to commit their investment for two or three years.

"Bradford & Bingley is committed to providing investors with good returns on their money and by offering deals over two and three years, we are providing customers with choice and assurance of a fixed return on their investment."

Both the Bradford & Bingley Two-Year Fixed-Rate eBond and three-year savings product are available to new and existing customers, but are only open to personal savers.

The accounts must be opened online and following this opening, no further deposits are permitted and no withdrawals are allowed during the term.
