Standard Life highlights strength of GARS Fund investment

Financial services provider Standard Life has lauded the success that its Global Absolute Return Strategies (GARS) Fund has enjoyed and highlighted some of its accomplishments.

Tam McVie, investment director of mutual funds at the organisation, made his comments after it was announced that Legal & General has added the fund to its Portfolio Plus Pensions and Portfolio Bond products.

He pointed out that the GARS Fund has been picked by Citywire as one of the top recommendations for this year's Isa season, as well as being awarded A ratings by Standard & Poors and OBSR.

The finance expert stated that he is "delighted" that Legal & General has chosen to take on the fund.

He added: "The fact that GARS was our best selling mutual fund during 2009 and continues to be so to date during 2010 is further evidence that word is spreading widely."

Standard Life recently announced the appointment of Colin Clark as director of its global client group, with the organisation lauding Mr Clark's experience in the industry.
