New Star Cautious Portfolio launched

The New Star Cautious Portfolio Trust is launching its latest fund, designed to provide investors with a regular income as well as capital growth.

A large part of the funds will be invested in fixed interest securities, which offer a very low level of potential risk.

Mark Harris, head of the New Star fund of funds team, said: "The fund will aim to deliver capital growth and a competitive yield over the long term.

He added: "The fund’s structure will allow it to diversify across a number of different asset classes in order to maximize total returns over the long run."

The New Star Cautious Portfolio will be available from October 10th, with the minimum investment standing at £1,000, with a minimum of £100 for subsequent investments.

Interest will be paid to investors quarterly.
