Coventry Building Society launches Scottish legal packages

The building society will now offer free or discounted legal packages for the first time.
Although this has been a feature of remortgage products in Scotland for some time, the different legal system means that it has so far not been an option for Coventry customers north of the border.
However, the availability of the incentive is still dependent on the product selected, as is the case for remortgagers in England and Wales.
Coventry has teamed up with Walker Laird Solicitors to offer the new service and where a customer does not want to use the solicitor they will get £200 cash as an alternative.
"The Scottish market is increasing in importance to us as we seek to grow our customer base and in December last year we improved our representation in Scotland through the recruitment of a dedicated intermediary sales consultant," Colin Franklin, head of sales at Coventry, comments.
"We are starting to get more direct enquiries from Scottish applicants by telephone and through our recently rebranded website."
