Independent financial advisers who operate through online services were rated from one to ten in a range of criteria such as functionality and site design, ease of transaction and personal contact and support levels.
The best performers received five stars.
Zurich Intermediary Group gained the top prize of FTAdviser Company of the Year for its online service.
FTAdviser.com praised its focus on investment and life and pensions.
Retirement Plus was named most improved mortgage provider, while The Hartford wsa the most improved life and pensions provider.
Most improved investment provider was Resolution.
Fidelity FundsNetwork was one provider to receive a five star rating.
Its head, David Dalton-Brown said that his company had a "strategy of continuous investment in technology" in order to provide the best service.
This strategy had been "endorsed" by the fact that the awards are voted for by advisers who regularly use online services, he said.
