LV= breaks Guinness world record

LV= has announced that a group of its staff have broken a Guinness world record in an effort to raise money for charity.

The eager employees at the insurance company collected 952 used mobile phones, the most ever gathered for charity purposes.

Used mobile phones can be recycled or even refurbished and used again. All the money raised by the initiative will go towards the great Ormond Street Children's Hospital and its Kiss it Better appeal.

Mike Rogers, LV= group chief executive, said of his staff: "The spirit they have shown in rummaging around at home for all their old mobiles, to raise money for Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, has been outstanding. One person alone brought in 15 old mobiles."

LV= began life as Liverpool Victoria in 1843 and now serves around 3.5 million customers and members, managing around £7 billion on their behalf.
