Fidelity International tells Isa customers to act quickly

Andy Weir, manager of the company's global inflation-linked bond fund, explained that inflation was not likely to have a serious impact in the immediate future, yet next year it would become a bigger problem.

The organisation offers a range of solutions for dealing with inflation, from investing in gold and equities to inflation-linked bonds.

Mr Weir said: "Investors typically have a bias for inflation-linked bonds in their home market. Instead, they may be better looking globally to get the best value for a money hedge against inflation."

Fidelity Funds Network suggests deflation will also be an issue in the next 12 months as the economy begins to recover.

Ed Dymott, head of UK fund partners at the organisation, said there is a lot of uncertainty regarding developments in the domestic and international economy for this year and warned that the next UK general election could be a deciding factor.
