"Quit for life" offer to smokers from Tesco Life Insurance

Announced today the Tesco Life Insurance 'quit for life' offer promises to reduce the premiums of smokers who kick the habit.

Some thirteen months after last smoking, policyholders can insist on changing their status to that of a non-smoker and will be quoted a lower premium as a result.

The Tesco Life Insurance 'quit for life' offer is dependant on the policyholder pledging to stay off the cigarettes and their general health must not deteriorate over the thirteen month period.

Head of Tesco Life Insurance, James Yerkes, said: "Many people are not aware that they can ask their life insurer to re-quote their policy if they have stopped smoking for thirteen months or more. We hope that by highlighting our promise we encourage smokers to stop and stay stopped."

Smoking is the major cause of preventable death in the UK and the Tesco Life Insurance 'quit for life' offer means customers could save money while also improving their health.
