Sainsbury's Bank internet savings account recognised

Sainsbury's Bank's Internet Saver account has been recognised by Moneyfacts.co.uk for its consistency.

In fact, the Sainsbury's savings account was highlighted as being the most consistent account of its type over the past 18 months.

Meanwhile, Nationwide's e-Savings account has also been given recognition for providing consistency to savers over the past three years.

According to Andrew Hagger of Moneyfacts.co.uk, the information provided about the savings accounts could help consumers make informed choices.

He said that those who are "fed up with the rates being cut on their savings account by more than the base rate" may find the recommendations useful, as well as people "who don't have the time or inclination" to be constantly switching accounts.

Mr Hagger added that a potential hazard of continually changing to accounts with attractive introductory offers is that it is easy to forget to switch again once the initial deal is finished.

Sainsbury's research from November reveals that as many as 19 million savers are unaware of their rate of interest.
