Barclays reveals gardening business trend

Barclays Local Business found a 'growing' trend among nature fans, especially in gardening services in public and private spaces.
There was been a 16 per cent rise in start-up businesses in the gardening and horticulture sector in the third quarter.
John Davis, marketing director for local business at Barclays, suggested that people were combining business with pleasure in a work-orientated society where time was precious.
"It is unsurprising therefore, that a growing number of enterprising people are leveraging their knowledge in this field and looking to combine their favourite pastime while capitalising on the current trends brought about by a time poor society."
Recent figures from Friends Provident revealed that a quarter of workers dream of starting a business based on a hobby or pastime.
The survey suggested that gardening was still a popular hobby among British people.
