Sainsbury's Bank bond launched

Sainsbury's Bank has announced plans to launch a one-year fixed-rate bond offering a competitive return of 5.53 per cent.

The Sainsbury's Bank bond will enable customers to invest any amount over £3,000 up to £1 million, with interest being paid on March 11th 2008.

However, the bank is also warning that customers can only invest a strictly limited amount of funds in the fixed-rate saver bond and that if the fund limit is reached, the account will no longer be accessible.

Following the roll out of a similar product last year, Paulina White, savings manager at Sainsbury's Bank, said: "Fixed-rate savings bonds offer some of the most attractive savings rates available."

Those consumers who are interested in signing up to the Sainsbury's Bank bond should log onto the group's website.
