John Hughes, business leader of retail products at the firm, made his comments after the organisation announced that both financial propositions will be free of charge for one year.
This would otherwise cost people up to £114 and Mr Hughes lauded the benefits of the accounts, as well as the top-notch customer service that comes with them.
He explained that the offer has been brought in to encourage more consumers to sign up for a current account with the Co-operative, with the organisation boasting a dedicated switching team to save time.
"Over the last six months, we've experienced a surge in customers switching their current account from other major providers to us," Mr Hughes added.
Last month, the company announced it had cut the interest rate on its Clear credit card from 12.9 to 11.9 per cent.
