NatWest: Brits taking opportunity to work abroad

The head of NatWest International Personal Banking has stated that there is an "increasing" number of people considering a move abroad.

Dave Isley said the bank's annual Quality of Life Survey indicated that more people are considering moving abroad to work or retire, with Canada and New Zealand highlighted as the two countries where it is easiest for British expatriates to settle in.

He added that the bank's international personal banking division "has seen a growth which is second to none" during the past five years and suggested that this could be a continuing trend.

Mr Isley also asserted that people considering a move abroad may wish to investigate English-speaking countries first, as British people often have an easier time integrating when they already speak the language.

The most recent NatWest International Personal Banking Quality of Life Survey found that the aspects of the UK that expatriates missed most include the British sense of humour and pubs.
